Why do we have unrealistic expectations for ourselves that we would never dream of piling on others? As women and business owners, we have a unique opportunity to bring beauty to the world, but instead of enjoying the process, we let the weight of responsibility cripple us.
I have spoken with many sweet business owners, and this is a common thread. The Holidays can compound that stress. I don’t want that to be my story or yours. I watched an Instagram video that said, “What if instead of saying, “Why are you so lazy?” to yourself when you get tired and are resting, instead say, “What have I accomplished that has made my body require rest?” What a switch in perspective, and what a healthy question!
So, not blogging for two or three months is NOT the end of the world. Neither is taking a break from social media. Let’s support each other and hand out grace like candy! This Thanksgiving week, I’m finally blogging again and want to tag some pretty unique small businesses and share some gorgeous photos I have fallen in love with!

I am so grateful for these two and their willingness to hike 10 minutes to this location. Not only did they trust me with creativity, but we had a blast capturing these images! I can’t wait to shoot the wedding in August! This is my pause-and-reflect moment, will you find one for yourself?
