It all began with a dream of styling a greenhouse for Miller’s Storage Building in my mind’s eye. One Sunday morning, while carpooling to church with my parents, I voiced this dream aloud, wishing I could take it back the second it left my lips. How ridiculous to think this would become a reality! Why mention it at all?
My mom must have tucked this tidbit away in her brain because she mentioned it to one of the owner’s wives the next time she saw her after hearing she wished someone would come to take photographs of their buildings. There wasn’t time to warn me that dream had been voiced out loud again before one of the owners contacted me to take a few photos. I stopped for a face-to-face visit knowing this was the best course of action. After grasping what he wanted out of his advertising, it became apparent that we would work exceptionally well together.
One month later, my dream came true when Miller’s pulled into my driveway with a greenhouse in tow, ready for me to add my special touch. I tell you all this for three reasons.
- As a reminder to share your dreams with trusted people who have your best interest at heart. If I would have kept this to myself and this door may have never opened.
- So that you might share in the excitement and be reminded that miracles happen everyday.
- As a reminder that good things come to those who work hard. This did not fall into my lap with no effort as we often think when we see a beautiful image, we forget all the perperation that comes a long with it, and we continue to scroll.
I love designing and making a space feel warm and welcoming, and I am passionate about it. This was a dream come true for me, and I’m so grateful for parents who don’t just support my dreams but help me find a way to make them happen. They have no problem rolling up their sleeves to help me work towards my goals. Of course, I had to add some beautiful friends of mine as models to showcase the greenhouse potential. Take a peek at my friend Marilyn and her adorable daughter Ellie potting away in this shed.
I could see this greenhouse used for
-hosting a small gathering of friends for a book club or dining experience.
-a she-shed, a getaway in your backyard for a crafting sanctuary, tranquil studio, reading escape, or other artistic hobbies.
– a greenhouse for your houseplants or a place for garden seedlings, whether vegetables or florals, with plenty of space for a potting bench area.
What did I forget to mention? How would you use this space?
If you have ever wanted a building for your backward dreams, Miller’s Storage Building can make it come true. Everything can be customized down to the trim color!
Thank you for reading along on this adventure of mine. As always, I love to hear feedback from you.
I hope you have a lovely Spring!
